Meaning? Full self check-in/out without a reception.
Guests receive all pre-arrival information by email and a text message and then can arrange check-in from the airport, from their favorite restaurant using the web-app or directly in the hotel lobby using the Self check-in. Kiosk. They will get the codes from the building and from the room and a description how to get there. On the day of departure, guests they use the Kiosk to check out.
“This is a very exceptional project for us, because we are testing whether it is even possible to run such a hotel without the reception and services that a regular guest is used to,” says Jan Lauterkranz of Orea hotels & resorts.
Self-service hotels are a modern trend, they will be appreciated mainly by hoteliers with smaller accommodation capacity. “It’s a natural evolution, everything is moving forward and technology is ruling the world. It will not be different in the future in the hotel industry either, “says Jan.
